What type speakers
work well with Diaural®?
The basic DiAural®
process requires at least a 2, 3, or 4-way speaker design.
While DiAural® Corporation
has successfully converted dozens of existing speakers, this was done
only for research and development purposes. We judged most of the conversion
to have a net benefit. However, we determined that to fully realize the
benefits of DiAural®, the box size would have to be modified. This would
be true in most cases. Electrostatic speakers will not lend themselves
to DiAural® design. Further research and testing is necessary on ribbon
and non-typical transducers. Nonetheless, there are some existing speaker
designs that have readily accepted a DiAural® conversion. On a positive
note, some of these conversions have resulted in a complete musical transformation
with the only change in the system being the replacement of the OEM crossover.
